Voitanos values your privacy and our approach to personal data

This week, on May 25th, the EU regulation known as GDPR goes into effect. The spirit of this regulation is to raise the bar for companies and how they handle personal information they collect on prospects, leads and customers. This affects not just those in the EU, but anyone who does business with people who are in the EU.

The changes required many of us to update our privacy policies, terms of use and other things to state things in a GDPR complaint way… which is what I’ve done at Voitanos. You can refer to our updated privacy policy & terms on our site. Some aspects of GDPR have conflicting opinions among legal folks. In the various small business communities I’m in for similar businesses, I’ve implemented policies, procedures and changes that we believe puts us all (including Voitanos) in compliance. If opinions change and as we learn more about how GDPR is interpreted and implemented in the coming months and years, I may make additional changes as it’s my goal to be compliant both to the letter and spirit of the regulation.

Aside from the legal & compliancy aspects, I wanted to share a bit more on how I approach and deal with personal data as it relates to Voitanos.

First a foremost, I only collect and store the bare minimum personal information necessary to communicate with you. This includes just your name and email address. In addition, I protect this information with the highest standards. Voitanos is implemented using a few 3rd party SaaS providers such as Kajabi , Wistia and Drip , all of which have very high standards and protections in place for protecting customer data.

All of my communication with prospects, leads and customers is done over email. You can only get on my email list if you give me your email by signing up for my newsletter & then consenting to the double-opt-in email I send you to confirm someone else isn’t signing you up. Each email you receive from me has a self-service unsubscribe link you can use to have me stop sending you emails. You can remove yourself entirely from my list or you can remove your self from certain types of emails I send you.

I have ZERO interest or intention of sending you email on things you are not interested in. In other words, I will not SPAM you which is defined as sending unwanted email. I want to state this as plainly as I possibly can: if you don’t want to receive email from me at Voitanos, don’t give me your email address. If you are a customer and unsubscribe from my email lists, I have no other way to contact you as I don’t collect phone numbers or addresses.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, always feel free to contact us .
